Four locations, three years, one network: Through “Gropius’ Cultural Islands,” the Culture Department of the Neukölln District Office will revitalize four central public spaces in Gropiusstadt from 2026 to 2028 using site-specific artistic interventions.

On two Sundays in June and September, Wildmeisterdamm will be transformed into a temporary cultural hub—featuring artistic installations on the ground and in the air that reexamine the relationship between the city, nature, and history.

Berlin Mondiale brings its program to the southernmost cultural island, featuring workshops, concerts, and a ceramics festival that help transform Apfelsinenplatz—and, as an extension, Rotraut-Richter-Platz—into a vibrant, intergenerational gathering place.

In the Gropiusstadt green corridor, Nuray Demir and Pia Lanzinger are transforming the pavilion into a temporary tea room—an open space for conversation, connection, and exploring what holds a neighborhood together.
