Tea Pavilion
As part ofGropius’ Kulturinselnthe project, artists Nuray Demir and Pia Lanzinger are exploring the newly redesigned Pavilion Square in the green corridor as a space for social interaction—working together with the residents of Gropiusstadt over the course of three years.
Walter Gropius dreamed of a city that not only provides housing but also brings people together. The artists take up this idea and ask: What defines a vibrant neighborhood? Who looks out for whom, and why? How do friendship, care, and trust develop among people who live next door to one another or in the same neighborhood?
The temporary tea pavilion is intended to become an open meeting place for all residents. Over a glass of tea, the artists invite you to strike up a conversation, bring your own questions and thoughts, and reflect together on what connects the neighborhood. Your voices and ideas will form the core of the project.
The Tea Pavilion opens on June 17 and will be open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Grünzug until July 10.
Everyone is warmly invited to stop by—bring your questions and ideas with you.
