Apfelsinenplatz

The southernmost cultural island at Apfelsinenplatz is hosted by Berlin Mondiale. Berlin Mondiale is a citywide network that promotes cultural education and artistic collaboration in Berlin neighborhoods with limited access to art and culture. Together with the Evangelical Church Congregation of Gropiusstadt, it has been developing Apfelsinenplatz since 2021 into a vibrant, intergenerational, and multicultural gathering place.

As part of “Gropius' Kulturinseln,” this program continues to evolve into a place where collaborative activities and artistic expression come together—open to experimentation, new encounters, and inspiration from the neighborhood. Festivals, concerts, and workshops bring together hands-on craftsmanship and artistic expression, inviting people of all ages to actively help shape the public space.

Textile Werkstatt für kreative Reparatur – always on the last Thursday of the month: Repairing, sewing, upcycling

Keramikfestival – on three Fridays in June, there will be clay experiments on the neighboring Rotraut-Richter-Platz

Summer concerts – three concerts transform the square into a place for music and gathering from July through September
