Pia Lanzinger / Michael Hauffen: line-UP

A gleaming white metal frame shaped like the outline of a playing field marks the entrance to the terrace of the sports hall at Hertabrücke. Like a sketch drawn in the air, whose lines define the playing area, the steel structure functions as a walk-through gateway that visitors pass through when entering and exiting the sports area, marking the transition between everyday life and sports.

Thanks to its clear, minimalist design language, the work is visible from afar and shapes the building’s identity. At the same time, the abstract gesture leaves room for diverse interpretations—the lines can be read as a playing field boundary, a spatial drawing, or a symbolic threshold.
