Art Parcours on Wildmeisterdamm

As part of “Gropius’ Kulturinseln,” the art parcours along Wildmeisterdamm invites visitors on Sunday, June 7, 2026, to rediscover the path between Lipschitzallee and Hugo-Heimann-Schule through five site-specific art installations.

The laying of the cornerstone is a classic ground-breaking ceremony in which something is entrusted to the ground, accompanied by the commitment to preserve it for the future. On June 12, 1963, it marked the moment in Gropiusstadt when the land became part of the city, driven by the postwar modernist desire for light, air, and sun. Anyone walking along Wildmeisterdamm today passes the protected Vogelwäldchen and the city’s tallest residential building. Where is the Gropiusstadt foundation stone located? What was embedded in the ground—both materially and conceptually—and what has survived underground? What emerges? And what do we place there for the future? You can stroll, roll, crawl, run, or gallop along the route and visit five artistic stations, with or without a dog.

The participating artists will be announced shortly.
